Tuesday 2nd April - Pompallier Y5/6. Prayer. Mahi Tahi STEM style teaching Y5-8 in small groups following a recipe to prepare kai for the Whanau Hui @ 5pm. Morning tea DUTY. Continue to work on literacy contracts. Stayed after school to prepare for Hui. 5-6.30pm. Meet the whanau and support a Mahi Tahi challenge with the parents. With student teacher Samantha Peters.
Wednesday 3rd April - Kaingaroa Y4/5/6. Whole school assembly. Whole class to write a compound and complex sentence. Literacy task to write a description (in book) about a picture found on National Geographic (chromebook). Kiwi can program. Morning tea DUTY. Reading from journals about Siapo (samoan art) and pacifika art, then research a pacific style picture using the chrome books. Begin a draft sketch. Lunchtime. Swimming SSR/milk. Duffy Assembly.
Thursday 4th April - BNZ
Friday 5th April - Pompallier Y5/6. Prayer. Literacy contracts. Morning tea DUTY. Continuing geometry exercise from yesterday. Students worked in teams to create an animal using geometric shapes. Once completed they revert to the board where each shape has a value eg. square = 8c. Team needs to add the value of the creature together and present as a $ and c price. One that has been completed they then choose one of the foldable shapes to trace onto paper and create their own 3D shape. Whole school assembly. With student teacher Samantha Peters.

Fantastic to have you at the whanau hui. Great way to connect with our whanau and get to know them through their child. STEM has been a really important part of our teaching and learning with a focus on the "soft skills" for our students. It was great to see the feedback from whanau how the learning is fun too!!!
